Golf (First female to play for the men's team in school's history, 4 years with a Varsity letter), ranked 12th in California by the SCPGA, Chief Editor of Sports for the school newspaper (worked my way up from staff writer, Sports Columnists to CE)
Intended Major(s): Education, Spanish, English Literature (No, I am not just picking obscure majors so I can transfer/switch later on)

Essay: My college counselor said that my essay is excellent and heartfelt (I had to write 9 drafts, she's very critical and cynical). I talked about my experience in teaching children while at Nicaragua, but not in the sense of "I built homes for poor people" or "I felt so sad seeing poverty". The majority of the essay focuses on how much I love to teach and how my experiences in Nicaragua improved my philosophy and approach to teaching today. I believe that my essay is very cohesive with my intended major and extracurriculars (I put my golf + newspaper roles at the bottom of my Common App Extracurriculars list) and if I do get into a reach school, I think my essay will be a definitive factor in my acceptance.
