You gpa is superb, but your SAT score does not show it. That will hurt your chances. Your perfect gpa and low sat score will project your high school to be easy. Also you did not mention your ranking. Being in the top 10% is critical when applying to UNC. You have excellent EC’s for an in state applicant. You clearly show that you can handle being a leader. Your awards will just help. And being an in-state resident will be in your favor.

The only thing that is hurting you is your SAT score. Right now your closer to the 25th percentile from the incoming freshmen profile for the class of 2015. And with the introduction of the Common App, the competition has become more fierce. Every year they increase their standards for their SAT and ACT scores. There may even be a chance that you may not even be in the range, but it is least likely to increase that much. My opinion is that you have a 50/50 chance. It could be higher if you did well in writing your essays and have received supporting teacher/counselor recs.

Just giving you my two cents’ worth.

I’m ranked 2 out of around 240. If that means anything. And I definitely appreciate your opinion!
