What are my chances?

Hello!

Please chance me at these schools:
UMichigan (Industrial Engineering)
UChicago (Economics)
University of Southern California (Industrial Engineering)
Georgia Tech (Industrial Engineering)
Binghamton University (Industrial Engineering)
University of Pennsylvania - SEAS (Systems Engineering)

Please note:
I applied last year and got extended waitlist offers from UMichigan-Ann Arbor, UChicago, and UPenn (Wharton). I lightly referred to that in each of my essays (half a sentence), and I'm going to email my admissions counselor at each university and introduce myself (Gives me a chance to remind them that I applied last year and got waitlisted). Should I email them later or is that (essay reference) enough?

My stats LAST year were horrendous (well, more than they are now :P!), 103/120 iBTOEFL, 570 Math, mid 500s reading and writing. I graduated this June (2011).

What's different this year: 600s in everything + will be sponsored by the world's largest corporation(by assets and revenue).I spoke a bit about the company's scholarship program in the additional information section (10,000+ applicants, only approximately 300 seats).

Counselor report:
1 SSR (online) from my scholarship program's advisor, 1 SSR (mailed) from my highschool counselor (very well written recommendation, atleast that's what he said).

Essays:
I showed them to 5 teachers (All of them are very experienced American teachers, 3 of them teach english in the scholarship program), my parents, 1 close friend at UMichigan-Ann Arbor, and they were all wowed by them. Deep, "from the heart" writing that I truly enjoyed.

Common App essay: Touched on a highly sensitive issue in my country and why it should be addressed (Under "Topic of your choice").

Thanks guys!

bump

Pretty please?

u need to raise your sat score by quite a bit. if u get it to 2000-2100, you have a good chance everywhere except for uchicago and upenn.
for those two schools, you should aim for a score of 2250+

otherwise, everything else on ur app seems good. try and raise that sat score

Thanks for passing by and sharing your opinion, bradyfanatic! I really appreciate it

Does it help that I got waitlisted last year (with MUCH lower scores) at UChicago and UPenn?

It does and I think they will consider your international status. If you raise your sat enough, you could even get into wharton perhaps…
