What are my chances?

well… actually, i pretty much know i’m screwed, but I’m curious… i love the school and a little optimism never hurt, right?

so, here are my stats… what do you think?

SAT:
math: 680
reading: 600 :-
writing: 670

SATII
math: 640
chem: 490 (i know i sucked, but it’s not my forte)

ACT composite: 27

GPA: 3.5 (unweighted)

classes right now:
math physics
psychology
pre-calculus ab
english 12
chorus
Honors Studio

Activities:
Varsity Volleyball (4 years) senior captain
Varsity Softball (2 years)
Winter Musical (2 years)
Peddie Newspaper (3 years) layout editor for 3 and for the third i was also
managing editor
French Club (1st year)
women’s right’s club (two years)

things that might give me an edge:
Studio art
volleyball (very improbable but hey)
i go to a good preparatory boarding school
i think my essay gave a good idea of who i am and why id fit at Brown
the teachers who wrote my recommendations like me :-)

pretty much 0.

hey bud... you dont have to be a jerk about it, thanks!

wow... if you're the kind of person that goes to brown, maybe i shouldn't go there...

look at this page
http://www.brown.edu/Administration/Admission/gettoknowus/factsandfigures.html

brown admits about 10% of the people with your stats. they admit less than 15% overall--those odds say it's as much worth a shot as it would be for anyone else

Dude, just go for it. What people on this thread say has no reflection as to what the admissions people want. Write a d*mn good essay, and dont sweat about the facts and figures. Highlight your passions, maybe even your passion for Brown, and you'll do fine.

essays are everything.
