^Sorry for the late reply, but I am looking to apply to BS/MD schools next year so I know a bit about them.

HPME is one of the hardest (probably THE hardest) and people who get in often turn down other Ivies and top schools (like Stanford, MIT). It’s really difficult.

As for your chances, it’s hard to tell. Do you have any more Medical ECs?

NW, Duke, Chicago and Columbia are reach schools for you.

You might be able to get into 1 of them if you get lucky.
You want to get good SAT II scores and maintain high GPA.
Then, essays, essays… (especially for Chicago)

As for medical ECs. this summer I am working as an intern at the eye research and clinical department in UIC. Mon-Fri (9-4 pm ish). I am doing research and will be shadowing operations once or twice a week…

I also got a 790 on chem SAT II and a 800 on Math II

when u say reach… isnt it a reach for everyone bc of the low acceptance rate… What characteristics of a student makes them stand out and get accepted to theses reach schools?
