Sorry if this is a bit long,
just skim through it and tell me what you think.

Can someone please reply?
I would really like to know…:/

I’m filling out my common app right now and will submitting many of my apps on Nov.1

It doesn’t really matter what we think. I think you have a good shot but its the colleges that are accepting you, not us.

Ok.

Well thanks for replying though. :)

Wow, you really have an impressive resume! Great scores and gpa, those will help you a ton. You are applying to some really competitive schools, so it’s hard to say what anyone’s chances are. However, I think you’re a really strong applicant regardless. Highlight your involvement in the economics club and your internship and relate that back to majoring in econ, I think that will help. IMO, I wouldn’t take the ACT again or even bother taking the SAT (unless any schools you’re applying to require it, but that’s usually not the case) and instead focus on your essays. Make sure your essays are really polished, and that they showcase more of your personality and I think you’ll stand a great shot!

On a side note, I might also considering adding another safety or two, just to be cautious. You’ll get in to SMU, but it’s always nice to have a few backups. Good luck!

Thanks rw2013!
And good luck to you too!

…aaaaaaaand bump

Whoaaa your resume is definitely excellent. Penn, UChicago, and Dartmouth are obviously going to have plenty of other qualified applicants, but you have a great shot. Just remember that ESSAYS will make you stand out (honestly, it’s probably cliche
on CC at this point, but it’s the truth). And I agree that you should highlight your interest in Econ because it’s not obvious from your activities (I would have guessed that you were interested inPre-Med).

I think you’re a strong candidate for all of those schools, but it’s hard to truly “chance” for the top tiers. Are you considering SMU as your safety? Maybe add an economic safety where you’re gonna be in the top academic bracket of applications if you’re at all concerned about merit money.

Luck!

Thanks for the responses guys!

@toomuchsoul: I’ve been doing a little exploring. I only just started to like econ like last year after taking micro and macro at school. Otherwise, my parents have sort of shoved me down the pre-med path. I also started my essays at the beginning of august with the help of a guidance counselor that my mom knows. Hopefully I don’t pass off as another studious Asian with no personality.

@Ceilidh8: I understand. I’m applying to Texas schools as well like UT Austin and UTD, but I already have automatic admission, so I’m not worrying too much about those. I guess with my stats I could get some merit scholarship or something.

Thanks!

Haha so obvious, you go to C?

C? Are you referring to my high school?

Yes I am referring to Coppell

…yes.

how did you know?
I don’t think I stated that in my resume…

Well whoever you are your ECs/Leadership are good because you centered it around economics. Did you take the SAT Subject Tests? I think you have to, or else your application won’t look as great.

No, but I am planning to do Math II and Chem/Physics in October.

Do you go to Coppell as well?

Yes that would make the most sense; however, it’s up to you to believe. Right $$$?

…right.

Ok seriously who are you? and how do u know me?

^^hello???
