well you are asian which sucks for you. your extras seem kinda bogus. you dont seem super invovled in any. youll get into rice and ut because you are instate. northwestern probably, but the other ones - no

note - dont apply to harvard AND yale. they dont like that

^ well.. i didnt really write down all my extras... and i didn't write down all the years of participation either... the majority of the ones i wrote i have participated for 3 years if not 4.

and.. how will harvard and yale know that i'm applying to both?

thanks for your input~

oh.. and i also forgot to mention my essay and my recs and stuff..

Teacher Recs: really good... one teacher has known me since 7th grade and wrote a really good one.. and another teacher is an AMAZING latin teacher i had since freshman year.. he went to harvard.. has a PhD.. he's just amazing.. and his writing is really eloquent.. and he knows me well =]

Counselor Rec: should be good~

Essay: it should be good as well.. i showed it to people and they found it very poignant and well-written =]

I have also taken the most rigourous course load available at my school~

I'd say you're in at everything but the ivys. Not to say you won't get into them, actually, prob not Harvard or Yale, but Columbia is a toss up. You are quite weak on extra currics. You don't do much stuff outside of academia, and you don't seem to have gotten any special designations in your ec's. However, VERY good grades and scores.

I think your chances for Harvard and Yale are really slim (reach schools), but Columbia is a slight reach. The other schools, you're at least a match.

i didn't think my extracurriculars were that bad.. perhaps it's because i left out a lot.. and i simplified a lot of my volunteer...i put my most important ones... and i thought the whole editor-in-chief and vice-president thing would help.. considering they were leadership roles. hm.

but still. thanks, anyway =] i definitely understand what ya'll are saying.

we'll see what happens! i get word from rice february 10 ><

ah.. and i dunno if this will help people help me out more... but my interview with columbia was AWESOME... the interviewer told me i was a perfect fit.. and that my extracurriculars and SAT scores were great... and he said i had a very "spunky" and "lively" personality that would do well.. he said he could see the "public speaking" side of me~

hehe he's probably nice to everyone >< but i just wanted to add that in =]
