Well to be honest and blunt, I've pretty much wasted my high school career thus far; not turning in work and taking a general interest in my courses. Throughout my high school career I have been just getting by, not because the classes I take are too hard, but the exact opposite I never really felt challenged or felt a need to participate in this mouse race for good grades, but looking back I regret it, now that my High school career is coming to a close. I have recently found an interest in Civil engineering, stemming from my interest in architecture. I've taken everything up to AP Physics and Pre calculus (I will be taking these this year). I am also in a Visual Arts academy that takes the spot of some of my other elective and I am in Japanese III, but like I said I wasted most of my High school career just getting by so even with impressive classes that are vigorous, I probably have like a 2.5-3.2 GPA (need to ask my guidance counselor), probably toward 2.5. I am also classified as Gifted and have pretty high standardize test scores, and scored pretty well on the PSAT (1660) if that makes any difference. I want to get into a college for civil engineering and plan to raise my GPA this year with 3 AP courses (weighted grades). I am going to apply to UVA, GMU, VT, ODU, and VMI, I really want to get into VT or UVA but considering my current academic state I don't think that is too likely what do you guys think.
