Hello there!
I'd like to start off by saying that I am new to College Confidential so bear with me :) .
I am currently a high school sophomore at a DODDS school overseas (Kadena AirBase, Okinawa). I have a 4.0 and plan to keep it that way for at least this year and my junior year. I am already studying the SATs/ACT and will be shooting for a 2000+ on SAT and 31 on ACT. I played varsity soccer last year (freshman) and plan to again this year and next. I work as a lifeguard (certified CPR and First-Aid). I'm going to volunteer with Red Cross over the summer as much as I can (aprx. 400 hrs), this year and next year. I play the acoustic guitar, speak almost fluent Japanese (working on it). I'm going to take about 5 AP classes next year, 2 of them Chemistry and Biology.
I know I have a lot of 'am planning to's in there but I know I can do it all. So if I accomplish all of it, do I have a shot at Stanford? UCLA? UCSD? CAL? I want to major in biological sciences and take the required pre-med classes in college. I'm open to any advice! What can I do to increase my chances? Thanks in a dvance everyone! I really appreciate you taking the time :) ALSO, does going to a DODDS school (I'm a military dependent) affect my chances at all?

Stanford: Reach
Berkeley/UCLA/UCSD: Score 32+ and it will become a match (UCSD pre-med is highly competitive)

Thanks for the reply, do you think more competitive is better ? For example, if I got into UCLA and UCSD, which program would be a better choice for pre-med? I know they are both excellent schools , but I am curious.

bump…

UCSD as far as pre-med is concerned.

Thanks for all of your help ! :)
