I am the "unofficial" valedictorian of my class of approximately 150 students (It's "unofficial" because my school doesn't rank). I have a 4.0 unweighted GPA and 4.85 weighted GPA. I have taken 11 AP classes and all honors classes, minus my electives. Although my academics are above average, I am not a good test taker-at all. I got a 1960 on my SAT with a 2000 superscore and a 30 on my ACT. I am involved in my school and participate in a good amount of extracurricular activities from golf to school honor societies to mentoring students (but I don't really do anything over-the-top like speech and debate or any science clubs...) So I want to know my chances for getting into UC Berkeley, Cornell University, Washington University in St. Louis, Rice University, Carnegie Mellon University, Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, and Tulane University. Thanks in advance!!

I think you have a…good shot. Your ECs however are average. In my opinion. Others my say otherwise. I understand that you are not a good test taker, I’m not either so don’t worry. I would use your. Keep it up!

Good Luck!

your scores are really low for most of the schools you listed. i fear that will be a large detriment to your application. however your academics are above average for people applying to those schools so who knows, maybe you’ll get in to one or two of the more competitive ones.

best of luck
