What are my chances

I am currently in 10th grade in a public school in Maryland. I have a GPA of 3.7 and a class rank of 87 of 425. I take honnors classes. I am the class president for 10th grade and student body president for 10th grade. I run indoor track and outdoor track. I am doing cross country next fall. I am also in USMC JROTC. I am a second year Staff Sergeant. I am in charge of the companies supply room and a squad leader. I am with the JROTC drill team and a squad leader there also. Next year I will be a platoon commander and drill team commander. I will also have an officer rank. I am a memeber of SCA also. I will continue this. I am joining National Honnors Society after this semester. This is the earliest time I can join. I continue to stay doing these things and take the SAT's next year. For the PSAT I had a score of 1850. A 630 in math, 620 in writing and a 610 in reading. I will aslo take college prep courses next year. What else should I do and where should I go from hear?

Sounds like you are on the right track. Be sure to take all of the math and science courses you can, particularly chem and physics along with any other honors or AP your school offers. Is that ur weighted or unweighted GPA? You should probably go ahead and contact your BGO and show them that you are interested. You should also apply for summer seminar, but that is still a year away.

it will answer a lot of your questions, since it's basically on the same topic.

you look like you have a lot of things going for you, especially with your leadership positions and athletics, especially for a sophomore. just keep that up, and i would absolutely take a test prep course if you can for the SAT; i found that Kaplan really helped me personally, and the higher your scores, the better off you'll be.

feel free to PM me with any questions. good luck!
