I got deferred by Michigan.

My stats:

2000 SAT
3.9 Junior Year GPA
3.7 Senior Year GPA. (got a C+ in AP Physics which is a downer) :(

will one C really reduce my chances?

I was also deferred with a 2020 SAT. If you're applying to the college of engineering or any strong science based program, that C+ could make a big difference. Did you send in your grades? With a C+ in Physics, I wouldn't send them in unless they ask for them. Then I'd make sure to get that grade up by the end of the year when they'd see it if accepted.

I applied to LSA and i even stated in my college essays that I plan on doing a Business major. I'm not going to do anything with science at all.

I sent my midyear grades beacause they asked for them.

Well I don't think they'll weigh too heavily on it. I wouldn't worry about it. I'm in the opposite situation. Throughout high school, history and english have been my weakness, and I hope they don't weigh those too heavily since I applied to Engineering.
