What are my chances?

I apologize in advance for posting this here. I know that there is a separate thread for these kinds of "chance" posts but I would rather put this up here.

My grades aren't solid and my extracurricular activities aren't exactly outstanding either. Do I still have a chance?

UW GPA: 3.7
SAT: 1850. I'll be taking this again this October.
ACT: Did not take it.
Class rank: Unknown.
AP Classes:
World History
U.S. History
U.S. Government & Politics
Biology
Economic Science
Psychology

Statistics
AP Scores: Passed everything at the least, some 4's. No 5's. (Is it true that UW doesn't really care for AP scores? I heard that somewhere...)

Extracurricular Activities:
Varsity tennis all 4 years of HS
President of two clubs, member in one other club
-One of these clubs is a service club, the other is a hobby/interest club. I am a member in the Red Cross club.

Mu Alpha Theta (Math Honor Society created at my HS by math teachers)
Fluent in Korean, Level 4 on TOPIK test
Honorable Mention at Washington state Korean speech contest
200+ hours of volunteer service at Korean language school, hospital, and overseas service trips
High position on HS newspaper committee (all staff chosen through application process)

I think you have a very solid chance of getting in. I had similar stats as you, but my SAT scores were a bit lower and you took more AP classes than me. Also, I don’t think the AP scores themselves have anything to do with acceptance. It’s more of the fact that you actually took AP courses that will help in their determination. Just make sure your essays are really good because that’s what they look at the most. Good luck!

Your extracurriculars are fine, but your SAT is a little low. If you can get it up 100 points or so you should be good. And don’t forget to put a lot of effort into your admissions essay.

Believe it or not, you do not need to raise your SAT score to get in to the UW. Trust me, people have gotten in with 1500s-1600s, and sometimes, even 1400s…so, with that being said, I think you’re a solid match for the UW. One thing to keep in mind is that the essays are extremely important. So if you have something meaningful and powerful to say, that will boost your chances even more. Good luck.

@swishbig, ulianjay Thank you for your responses! I’m hoping to raise my SAT score when I retake the test this October.

@justchilling I’ve heard about this but there were so many seniors at my high school (my high school is ranked 4th in Washington state) were rejected from UW this past springtime with 1800 SAT scores.
