I started a club in my county that connects students with the local and state governments. In it, we visit monthly meetings of the school board and of the local government and we go to the capitol a couple times a year to sit in and listen to debates.

Teacher Recs: All 3 are fantastic; 2 come from social studies teachers (AP Euro and AP Government), and the other comes from my AP Biology teacher
Counselor Rec: Great
Essay: Personally, I think it's really good. I chose the essay about becoming an adult in my family and wrote about how my father was forced to retire after he was diagnosed with a form of dementia and how that led to me having more responsibilities and gaining more trust from my family, especially my mother.</p>
