What are my chances?

Im worried I have an imbalance between safety, match, and reach.

-Unweighted GPA 3.88

-Weighted GPA 4.25

-UC GPA 4.15

-3 AP and all honors classes besides english, my school doesn't like AP's till junior year and don't have the widest selection

-No rank

-31 ACT(m-35 e-31 r-29 s-28

-APUSH-5 PHYB-4 GOV-4 Calc BC-? Micro/Macro-? Lit-? PHYC-?

-ECs NHS, 2 years; MECS(environmental club),3 years and leader of club; CEC(helping children with mental disabilities) 2 year; intramurials basketball 4 years; disk golf club, 3 years; Yearly Recycle event in my community, big helper

-employment Dominick's Bagger over the summer

-honors/awards AP Scholar, NHS, High Honor Roll every semester

-Hopefully good Rec's and essays are okay

-The lack of EC's is freshman year I was unable to do any because I had to babysit my sister everyday because my mother passed away and sophomore year was difficult till I had my car.

The school list is
Indiana U-I'm already accepted just adding in for safety count
UIUC-in state
Umich
University of Virginia
UNC-CH
Stanford SCEA(first choice)
Duke
Cornell
NYU
Emory University
UCLA (more realistic first choice)
UCB
USC

What does CC think? Thanks for everyones help

bump bump bump

You must include (i imagine you probably did) your babysitting your sister and your hardship in your essay, because otherwise your stats and EC’s are definitely too low for Stanford (and Duke/Cornell)-I also don’t know your race but i’m assuming you are not a minority. You are right UCLA is more realistic (still a reach). UVA/NYU seem more realistic.

Nope I’m white and I didn’t write an essay about it but did include it in the common app application because there are some spots for it

bump looking for other opinions as well

Bump… Need other opinions.

Indiana U-Congrats!
UIUC-in state- safety/match
Umich-match/low reach
University of Virginia-unfamiliar
UNC-CH- reach
Stanford SCEA(first choice)- High reach only because its the most unpredictable ivy
Duke- reach
Cornell-reach
NYU-match/low reach
Emory University-low reach
UCLA (more realistic first choice)- low reach/reach
UCB-reach
USC-low reach/match

chance me back?

So from what I’m getting is my list is very reach heavy…

OP, realistically, I would say that yes, while your list is quite reach heavy, you also have a good mix of matches/low reaches thrown in. Indiana, UIUC, University of Virginia and USC are all possible and even likely. Good luck!

Chance me back?
http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1577930-yet-another-chance-post-check-out-maybe.html

Will chance you and I guess I’m misunderstanding what a match school is. For every school on this list with the exception of duke and stanford my act and gpa are in will within the middle of the admitted pool. What schools should I be looking at then?
