I am a community college student in a college in the local area. I applied to SDSU for transfer last October and completed the supplemental application last week. Here are my stats:

Major: English
Transfer GPA: 2.63
Local area: Grossmont/Cuyamaca
Golden 4 done except Math. I am taking it this semester.
All Major prep done except one class. I am taking the last class I need as cross-enrollment at SDSU because my community colleges do not offer it this semester.

I am really worried about my 2.63 GPA. I had a bad semester when I first started going to college and it brought down my GPA. I have gotten no D's, F's or W's in the last few semesters. The GPA requirement for my major is 2.4. Do I have a good chance?

Also, my college has not accepted the transfer degree for my major yet so I can only use the TAG agreement.

So, if you have gotten/will get your associates and indicated it on your transfer application you should have guaranteed admissions.

If they allow you to get in off the TAG agreement even though the AAT degree is accepted (which they probably won’t according to the bottom of: http://arweb.sdsu.edu/es/admissions/pdf/TAG_2014.pdf) you need to take the following classes: American Literature I/II, British Literature I, British Literature II, Advanced Composition: Critical Reasoning and Writing, and one of these: Introduction to literature, Creative Writing, World Literature I/II and calculate your GPA from those classes alone. If that GPA is higher than a 2.5 you have guaranteed admissions.

If you’re not getting in off AAT or TAG I’d say your chances are close to none.

Thanks but I’ve had multiple counselors tell me that I couldn’t get the AAT degree because at the time of applying to SDSU, it wasn’t approved yet. I’ve got all those major prep classes done except for one which I’m completing through cross enrollment at SDSU.
