What are my chances

I'm from India and i'm currently in 11th standard.i can and cook but i have no certificates for that.i was also the group leader of boy scouts group in school and i am going to appear for first level of a music exam, intermediate grade exam in september so that ill get a certificate for painting and i'm also learning german to give A1 exam and i play guitar for which im not sure if ill get any certificate.I'll give my sat and toefl in jan.i scored 90.4% in my 10th boards.i also know c++ and a little bit of programming(which ill ace) since i have taken up computer science subject.i want to be an architect but i'd also like to be doctor(neurologist maybe) and my parents cant afford more than $25000 a year so ill have to get scholarship for my undergraduate studies.i am thinking of syracuse(but will i get their merit based scholarship?),cornell(chances are quite low)northeastern(i had a cousin from northeastern so she'll arrange some recommendations).do you know any other university that has lenient financial policy and where i have good chances?university from uk,canada, australia or any good country would also do

There is very limited financial aid for international students. Those limited schools (6) that do provide financial merit aid are very competitive. You have to be one of the best students in all of your country. You will be paying out of state tuition. So assume at least $40-60k per year in tuition and fees.

What you need is FOCUS

  • Focus on one country i.e. the US
  • Focus on one activity (either Cooking, German, Music, or Programming). Schools don’t like renaissance men/women these days and a little bit of everything would most likely get your app thrown out. You have plenty of time to develop an activity which can become your hook in the college admissions
  • Apply to lots of LACs, they give out good aid. Throw Syracuse and Northeastern out right now, they suck in fin aid.
  • Do some friggin research, this is not a place where you can just post a question and relax while other people bust their backs doing basic research for you.
For starters, here’s a list of schools that have the most fin aid in proportion of students (i.e. these schools give aid to almost all admitted internationals). The rank in the list tells how much of the need is met. For e.g. A schools that meets 90% of need of all admitted internationals will be ranked higher than the school that meets 90% need of 90% of admitted internationals.
