Hello, I applied to FSU for the Fall term very early before the deadline. Please inform me of my chances
Unweighted GPA: 3.0
Weighted GPA: 3.5
ACT: 20
SAT: 1390
Class Rigor: All Honors, 1 AP
Extracurricular Activities: FPSA member, Police Explorer, Foreign Language Club, Homeland Security Club, Student Intern for state attorneys office, student volunteer for park
Community Service: 200+ Hours

@Amet305 I’ve never met anybody who gets denied from FSU so I’m sure you’ll be fine.

This is a very ill-informed statement. Plenty of people are denied from FSU (or else they would have a 100% acceptance rate, not the ~45% acceptance rate they had this past year).

If your SAT score is including reading + writing + math, that’s over 100 points below the FSU minimum of a 1500 (500 in each of the 3 sections). Your ACT score also doesn’t meet the university’s minimum for each section (21 writing, 21 math, 22 reading) unless your science score is in the teens. Your GPA is also lower than FSU’s middle range of a 3.8 to 4.3.

While your extracurriculars are good, the rest of your stats just aren’t that great. I wouldn’t put your chances of acceptance very high at all.

You most likely won’t get in fall.

Very slim but you never know. Your Weighted GPA is average but your Unweighted is borderline acceptable and your test scores are decent. EC’s won’t matter much because of this. GL

I applied last year, 3.4 unweighted, 3.6 Weighted. 7 AP classes, High leadership positions within the school, 24 ACT 1550 SAT. 130+ volunteer hours. Applied for summer as soon as I could. I got rejected.

For the record though I had a few issues with FLVS and my foreign language credits not being received in time

Your GPA wasn’t on par with FSU (3.7-4.3), that’s probably why you were rejected. Your test scores were also borderline acceptable for FSU even for the summer term (24-28) and your weighted was considerably low which looks weird considering you took 7 AP classes which means you didn’t do to well in them. Also you class rigor wasn’t that strong then considering that many people with the same stats as yours got in last year.

I don’t think it is very realistic that you will be accepted. Read the FSU’s Counselor Information brochure for last year’s acceptance statistics.
