I am currently a grade 10 student with major hopes of attending FIT after I graduate high school. I have a strong passion for fashion and would absolutely love to major in Fashion Merchandising Management for associates and then International Trade and Marketing for bachelors. I currently have a 3.4 gpa however my goal is to have a 3.6 - 3.7 when I graduate. I have been taking fashion design (illustration and sewing) classes at a prestigious art school for my extracurriculars. I would also be an international student from Canada. I plan to take AP english in grade 12. What are my chances of getting accepted, considering I am an international student?

Technically speaking, the acceptance rate is pretty low at around 40-45%; but I just think that’s because such a large number of people apply because it’s one of the best schools out there. For FMM keeps your grades up, continue extracurricular activities and take high level classes. Math is a huge part of the major so make sure those grades are strong because they’ll specifically look at that. As far a being international: FIT takes huge pride in being a diverse and worldly school, so if anything it’s a good thing (of course it’s not gonna get you a free ticket in, but it won’t hurt either). Good luck and stick with it:)
