I am from India too and am currently in 12th grade. What percentage did you have in your 12th class

You have a good story. But man… Your SAT’s are really pulling you down. 480 in writing is very low. You have 770 in math which is good. But a 660 in math 1 is low. Besides, some of these schools like MIT require Math LvL 2 and a science SAT like physics or chemistry or bio.

Most of these schools have average SAT’s around 2100 some even above 2200.

I’m not saying you don’t have a chance at all, i mean, who knows, they might want you for some reason. But if you really want to study in the US i hope you are considering applying to other schools.

And are your parents paying full tuition ? Because it’s gonna be hard to get any help with your scores.

As the above poster said, MIT requires math 2 and a science subject test, which you don’t have. Also, your SAT scores are extremely weak for those colleges, and your extracurricular aren’t very special and don’t show a passion. I know this sounds awful but I don’t think your shot is great at those schools, especially considering its way harder for an international student to get in anyways…

it’s not harder if the international pays full tuition.

Do NOT let any of those schools see that you received a 480 on US History and 480 on Critical Writing. That is below average for even some local schools, nevermind those nationally accredited research universities. You definitely should boost your SAT Critical Reading score as well. I think if you fix these problems you may be qualified for some upper tier schools, but I unfortunately do not believe you would be qualified for the schools you listed even if you fix those issues.

I’m sorry I just want to be honest. I am not sure you will get into any of these schools. Like someone mentioned above, international students have a hard time getting in to top tier us universities. I would really suggest applying to schools with higher acceptance rates. Some schools you should consider applying to considering your financial situation and application:
Tulane university
University of Georgia
University of Texas at Austin
Please chance me back

so what are the areas I should really work on?

also I don’t think my parents will be able to pay for tuition at all
