<p>Reach/Target schools that I need chanced are: Emory, CMC(Applying ED 2), CMU, Boston College, USC, NYU, Pitzer, Umich Major's depend on school, but include Comp Sci, Applied math/statistics, Economics, and Finance</p>

<p>Test Scores: 710 R 800 M 710 W 9 Essay 34 ACT 800 Math 2 800 Chinese 780 Physics 5 AP Calc BC 5 AP English Lang 5 AP Chinese 4 AP Chem 4 AP USH 4 AP Phys B 4 AP Euro 3 AP French</p>

<p>GPA: Total GPA: 4.16/3.61 Academic GPA: 4.18/3.55 10-12 GPA: 4.23/3.42 (Basically H=high rigor but a bunch of B's)</p>

<p>EC's/Awards: 4 years of Key Club, VP Junior Year 2 years of Interact, Co- president Senior Year 1 year of Orchestra, Concert master Freshman Year 2 years of Chamber Orchestra, Concert master Senior Year 1 year of symphony in youth symphony outside of school, most prestigious senior symphony Junior Year Merit Scholarship student at local music school 2 years of JV tennis FroshSoph Years 2 years of JV Xcountry FroshSoph Years Qualified for AIME Sophomore year National Merit Semifinalist AP Scholar w/ Distinction Rotary Youth Leadership Award</p>

<p>Essays: They aren't amazing but they aren't bad either, 6-7/10, 10 being Ivy League material</p>

<p>Other: Family troubles including domestic violence, etc which involved some court cases, police, and took place around the time of my junior year.</p>

<p>So that's basically it, I realize I have a low GPA and my extracurriculars and awards aren't great but some of these schools I really want to go to (Specifically CMC), so what are my chances for these schools? I haven't really visited any of these colleges physically, how will that affect my admission chances?</p>

<p>CMC- especially because it is a small selective college, will value showing interest,therefore the fact that you havent visited will probably hurt you- I would try to do at least an alumni interview or something. This will be a bit of a reach for you, but it could still happen.
Emory I think you have a shot.
NYU- not visiting wont really hurt you here because of its size- they dont look at each applicant as holistically as somewhere like CMC does. Also a more likely school for you.
Pitzer- similar situation w/the not visiting, try to go or do an interview.Also going to be a bit of a reach, but maybe less so than CMC (although youre applying ED to CMC so that helps)
Boston college- more likely/possible for you. And not visiting wont impact you as much here.</p>

<p>However, not visiting could be a disadvantage to you, visiting can really help you make your decision, and especially if youre applying ED, you are committing, so not getting a chance to spend time at the school is taking a risk. Best of luck!</p>

<p>@Bell315‌ Thanks for the reply! It will be too late for me to visit or interview by now however. Do you know if they still have video supplements for CMC? I would submit one but idk if they have them anymore </p>

<p>Im not sure- check on the website or even email your regional admissions dean! that helps to establish a relationship with them! </p>

Some new information, I don’t know how much it will accept my chances but I am likely to have a 3.67-3.83 unweighted, 4.3-4.5 weighted academic GPA this semester</bump></p>
