I really do like Middlebury, so I was wondering what you guys think of my chances. Thanks!

Quick question- what is AP scholar with honor? You seem to be a very competitive applicant due to your GPA and SAT II scores. Middlebury gets a lot of applicants from New England, so that would be a disadvantage. In this case, I think your essay would be the deciding factor. Good luck!! :)

You sound good to me, too. I suggest you emphasis your intention to continue your musical activities in college, as that will help differentiate you from the other top NE prospects.I give you 50-50 odds.
I also suggest you consider Williams, as they are usually “hotter” for musicians than Midd.
Debate isn’t big at Midd, and if you love debate, look at Hobart William Smith as a safety. They have consistently placed among the top debate schools in the country, and have a fabulous(and committed) team.Last year one of their teams won the National Parliamentary Debate Championship, beating Harvard and a host of other top tier schools.
OB: Debate is on fire at Middlebury. Young leadership has take the team to unprecedented heights. It is (was in November) rated 8th in the nation now, ahead of every NESCAC school but Bates, and every Ivy but Yale, Harvard, and Brown. It is quite a turn around for debate, which had languished for years but is now an inspiring student org.
