thank you for your cooperation!

sincerely,
emjey

emjey:

UCB/UCLA: Reach (out of state)
UCSD: Slight Reach (out of state)
UCI: Match (out of state)

thanks for the reply.

what about USC and stanford?

:)

USC:In between slight reach and reach
Stanford: Big reach

for USC, it was DEFINITELY help that your dad graduated from there. they love seeing that kind of stuff.

If you can, take AP classes in math/science. Also try and get your SAT scores up to the 700-range if possible (buy Princeton review prep books and the official "blue book" published by College Board)
Is your GPA weighted or unweighted?
The legacy definitely helps at USC. Visit, show your interest, etc.
Stanford is a serious reach for anyone. Pepperdine is a likely for you (Look into Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles also...similar school, slightly more prestige)

Write your essays about your extracurriculars to draw more attention to them, they are great! (yearbook, newspaper=good candidate for Annenberg School of Communication Journalism major at USC, if that's what you're interested in)

thanks so much for the reply!

what does "reach" mean?
does it mean that i have a chance or do i need an extra "something" to boost my chances?
is pepperdine a hard school?
alot of my school's alumni either graduated or are attending Loyola Marymount University. They enjoy it, but they told me that it'll be more worth it to apply to USC.

i visited USC during my fall break.
i went on a campus tour and fell in love with the campus!

recently, i got a letter from the dean of admissions telling me to register so that they can send me info.

hmm,
i go to a really small school so they don't offer that many AP classes.
i was considering taking AP chem, but the teacher isnt so good. :(

thanks for the tip about SAT scores.
ackkk, the SAT is really important, right?

i was thinking about going into communications, but then i changed my mind to either International Relations or Education Admin or Asian American Studies. My dad graduated from the Rossier School of Education.

thanks SO much for the reply!
fight on! :)

what else does USC like to see?

i know that they really look at trojan legacy.....
