What are my chances?

Hi everyone! So, I’m still a junior, but the common app comes out in four months for next year, so I’m starting to get everything ready for college application time.

My GPA is a 3.94

9th grade schedule:
Honors English 9
Honors French 9

One semester of art/ One semester of creative writing

10th grade schedule:

11th grade schedule:

Honors Biology 11
AP US History
One semester of art/ One semester of creative writing

Planned 12th grade schedule:
AP Literature
AP French

Honors Environmental Science
AP US Govt
One semester of a writing class

Extra-Curriculars:
JV Cross-Country (grade 9) --> Varsity Cross-Country (each year since)
School newspaper:

  • Staff writer in 9th grade
  • Head writer in 10th grade
  • Editor-in-Chief in 11th grade
School literary magazine: writer for each year
  • I have also submitted to and placed in various capacities in a number of state/national writing contests throughout high school

SAT scores:

  • Critical Reading: 750
  • Writing: 690
  • Math: 630
(I am going to take it a second time early senior year, so these may go up a bit)

I can count on one stellar recommendation from my creative writing teacher, who also taught me English one year and has become a sort of mentor for me. My college counselor will probably write me a good rec too. I will most likely get at least one other vaguely decent rec from a history or French teacher.

Can’t tell for certain how my essay will be, as I haven’t written it yet, but I have a thing for writing (if you didn’t pick that up yet…), so I think it will be at least respectable.

COLLEGES I PLAN TO APPLY TO:
Princeton (legacy)
Washington and Lee
Davidson
William and Mary
UVA (legacy)
Amherst
Swarthmore
Haverford

So let me know you think, and I will chance you back if you want- just leave me a link!

I think Princeton is a bit of a struggle because of your low SAT scores and not many EC’s, although the
ones you do have are pretty strong so low to mid reach

I would say Haverford is a good match for you tho

Forgot to mention that I have 100 community service hours, mostly accumulated over the summers. Not sure if that changes anything, but it’s going to be part of my application. Also, I am leaning towards taking AP Physics instead of AP Environmental Science next year

Do not take AP physics. IT IS A TERRIBLE CLASS
