What are my chances?

UNC Chapel Hill has always been my dream school. I’m an out of state female from New Jersey and I was wondering if you could be honest with me and let me know how to improve myself and things I can do to make my application a better one.

I am currently a junior, I played lacrosse as a freshman but unfortunately because of a strange medical condition im unable to continue that. I am in Art National Honors Society, astronomy club and National Honors Society in school. I also volunteer at a hospital and shadow/volunteer for a pediatrician. I also work at American Eagle for a year now. I have a promotion there and instead of being a regular associate, I am a stylist. I also have been nannying for a year and take care of a two year old boy.

Aside from that, in school I am a level above what juniors are supposed to be in math, I have taken Honors Algebra II, Honors Precalc and AP Calc AB. I also have taken honors chemistry and honors physics, honors US history, honors Lit freshman and sophomore year and AP Lang and Comp this year. I also have taken italian for three years. I’m taking AP psych this year and honors art which I had to apply for as well.
Next year I am planning on taking honors abnormal psych, AP art, honors lit, AP Calc BC, AP micro, and AP Physics.

I currently have a 4.125 but by the end of this year I hope to have either a high 4.2 or a low 4.3.

My SATs I have taken once and gotten an 1830 which I know I can bring up. If anyone has any methods on how this can be done please let me know too. I have been studying on my own but if anyone has any effective methods please let me know!

If there are any other activities I can participate in to increase my chances please let me know as well! Thank you for your time.

Hi,

Your GPA is great and I think you would be great for an academic niche at UNC Chapel Hill.

My advice for you is just to find or do what you truly love to do.

Best of luck.

Your GPA is great. Make sure to work on improving your SAT score, UNC’s average is ~650+ for each section, but since your out of state you want to make sure to be well above that range! Also make sure to gain some leadership positions in the honor societies and clubs you are currently in. Good luck!
