What are my chances?

Hi. I am currently a junior enrolled at a highly competitive high school and was wondering what my chances of getting into American University are based on the following.
SAT-

  • Spanish
  • honors geometry
  • honors algerbra topics and statistics
    Sophomor-
  • honors Chemistey

  • honors algebra 2
  • honors college algebra
  • AP world history

  • honors Spanish
  • honors trigonometry
  • AP English 11
  • AP psychology
  • AP US history

  • honors statistics
  • honors anatomy
  • AP Spanish
  • AP computer science

  • president of student relations in community group pushing for education reform
  • part time job throughout the year; two during the summer
  • NHS
  • volunteer work 80hrs
I realize my GPA is lower then it should be but I suffered a variety of health issues my sophomore year which hurt my grade as I was unable to attend school regally but I do have medical record proving that was the reason. Also I have never gotten below an A in any of my AP’s. I’m really interest in this school as well as Fordham university and i’m looking to double major in political science and international relations with a minor in middle eastern studies. Thanks so much for your time!!!

You will get into Fordham. You’re near their 75% SAT threshold, and you have time to bring up the GPA. With all those APs, your recalculated college GPA will be a lot higher than that 3.5. I would not worry.

You seem like a great candidate for both schools. Your SAT is good for both and you do have time to bring GPA up though for the two schools you mentioned I don’t think GPA will harm you too much. Best of luck!

You will get into both schools. SAT is up there and well qualifies for admission there. Your GPA is low, but it isn’t terrible, and your SAT score confirms that. EC’s show a passion that goes along with your intended fields of study. You should be good to go for both schools.
