You need pretty good SAT/ACT scores to get into UW since your GPA isn’t great. The essay section is also important, so put in good effort to that.

I have a 3.9 GPA and 1850 SAT on the 2400 scale. And I got in. Plus my essay and extracurriculars were good.

You have fairy good list of extracurricular(ec) activities but I think it’s not enough to ensure acceptance. By the looks of this years’ rejection list, a lot of people had about the same or more ec activity but they fell short by the lack of # of AP classes and their GPA. You’ll need a good SAT/ACT score to make up for your GPA.

Also I have a handful of very smart friends who all have outstanding grades and decent amount of ec but they sounded very cocky in their essays and got rejected/waitlisted. Essay is important.

Thank you for the help! And I believe my GPA doesn’t reflect what type of student I am because I do work hard, my high school just has standards based grading. I’m thinking of doing a running start program next year at a community college do you think it would make up for my GPA now?
