What are my chances?

I am considering applying to NYU (Tandon School of Engineering specifically), and if I do, I would apply for ED. I would like feedback (please don’t be too harsh, if possible heh heh)

-Female junior
-Born in India, but came to America w/ Parents (first in family to do so)
-Top 10% of class of 500+ students
-GPA of 97-98 out of 100 (my school doesn’t do 4.0)
-SAT score: 2060 (I will take redesigned SAT and I am aiming for a 1400)
-I have my own blog (about helping young girls)
-Currently completing a paid internship as a web developer for a major co
-Doing summer leadership program (where I will work in a specific field for 238 hours in 8 weeks)
-Martial artist (black belt, 6+ years experience, love it!)

  • taking 8 AP classes (might change to 7 and just take 3 next year)
  • Member of 4 clubs (started one and hoping to be president in 2 of them!)
  • Web developer (mainly for small businesses & blogs)
  • Volunteer at shelter (100+ hours)
  • Tutor kids at local library (usually for math)
  • Member of National Honors Society
  • I can get great letters of recommendations
Do I have a shot? I love to write and I have been told that I am a great writer so I assume I will be able to construct a well-written, intriguing essay (hopefully, lol).

NYU has a good name but don’t go there for engineering. It’s not the best and you’re seperate from the regular campus. That being said, you should get in. I think it’s less competitive than the other NYU schools.

You’ll definitely get it. I had an 1860 on the SATs and a 94 GPA and similar EC’s so you should def get it.
