I'm a high school junior interested in GW. Here's my info:

Academics:
-All honors and one AP class
-GPA 3.8(unweighted) 4.0(weighted)
-Next year I will be taking two APs, one honors, and some academic electives

SATs:
-SAT I = Verbal-670, Math-650, Writing-610
-I'm retaking the SATs along with three SAT Subject Tests

ECs:
- lawyer on the Mock Trial team
- Debate/Model Congress
- Drama Theatre
- Jazz Band
- National Honor Society
- Modern Music Masters
- a local band--we've released a full length cd and have made countless performances (many non-profit/charity)
- various community service activites
- some employment

Hopefully I didn't forget anything. What do you think my chances are at GW? Any feedback is appreciated.

I definitely think you have a good chance, especially if you apply ED, write some great and persuasive essays, and show real interest in GW. You said you are retaking the SATs, which is a good idea, b/c I feel like they can be the deciding factor between two otherwise similar candidates.

It might also be helpful for you to try and find out your high school's history w/ GW (does your school have naviance, a website that often has this data?). We can all tell you whether you have a chance, but your high school is a huge part of the equation and SAT/GPA avgs for your high school can vary greatly from the avgs GW publicizes.

Take Georgetown, for instance. On college board, the avg Gtown SAT score is 1390. But at my school the avg is 1470. Sometimes it works the opposite way too, which is always nice. Anyways, I suggest looking into that.

Good Luck!

Is the average Gtown SAT really 1390?? That seems really low...
P.S. You definitely have a good shot at getting in, especially if you pull up your SAT scores a bit (I had a 630 M, 700 V, 720 W and got in with the max merit scholarship and Honors program...so you don't have far to go at all!)
