What are my Chances?

I am a Junior in highschool and a prospective student. I would like to know what you think my chances are for acceptance into the school

I am in the top 10% of my class, and my GPA is a 3.92

My SAT Score is an 1860 (Lower than the Midrange)

My EC activities hopefully make up for a bit of lacking test scores

I have been president of Student Government each year I’ve been in high school and I was elected executive board president for next year

I was elected FBLA President for next year

I have been admitted into Peer Leadership for next year (a very difficult feat),

I am a Varsity Tennis and Soccer Player and a candidate for Tennis Captain next year

I have 800+ service hours and I have been a member of the Red Cross Youth Group since freshman year

I have taken AP Calculus and APUSH, I expect to get atleast a 3 on the calculus exam and atleast a 4 on the APUSH, if not a 5

I am also a member of an International Business Alliance Program through Leadership Initiatives in Washington D.C. where I am partnered with a Nigerian Business. Our Group comes up with business plans and solutions to help our partner’s business grow. I am also the fundraising coordinator of the club and I am required to create fundraising solutions to earn 5000 each year which I have been successful with.

With all of this information, do you think my chances are significant enough to consider Boston University a reach school, or are my chances simply too minuscule with my lacking test scores?

You have great extracurriculars and assuming that you’re applying to Questrom (Business school at BU), your chances aren’t very good with your current SAT. If the 3.92 is your UW GPA, you are well above the 3.7 average. However, your SAT score stands pretty far out from the 2067 average of the class of 2020. Questrom is even scarier with a 19% acceptance rate this year. If anything, focus on improving your SAT score for now! Good luck!

CGS would be a match if you choose that option, you can then move to Questrom if you have a 2.3 GPA after sophomore year.
