Also let me mention that the trig course and pre cal course listed in junior year are each a semester course so they don’t factor in to my GPA as much. Also under junior year the Graphics Img. Tech II class is worth 2 credits so it counts as 2 A’s on my GPA. Estimated weighted GPA after junior year:
3.85 - 3.90.

My SAT scores: a 730 on my reading, 650 on my math, and 620 on my writing. I am on the varsity ice hockey team, do community service, can list a lot of awards, and have just a few clubs. I am also a minority (Asian - Indian Subcontinent).

So, what are my chances?

Also, I am first generation and my parents make like 20-30K per year. I don’t know if that helps or not…

you'll be accepted. BU is one of the best universities with a relatively easy admission.

there's a very very small chance that someone else from your high school applying to BU and with more competitive stats, activities, recommendations, and essays will make it into CAS (or whatever college u want) and BU will place u into CGS. but it seems like u have it made.. u don't have to worry.

this is a random question, but what's your first name? one of my best friends, who's indian, is named shazia.. and your username made me picture her with like a dinosaur body lol.

lol i'm a boy so i have a masculine version of the name Shazia (Shazad)... anyways now that you bring it up i hear that BU got a lot of Pakistani/Indian folk up there... are there a lot of hot pakistani girls?

You're in.

BU's admissions is pretty easy, and you're well above their average. I doubt you'll get shunted to CGS with those scores, but hey, you never know. Income is not a factor in admissions, so that doesn't help or hurt you. I think being first generation may help you out somewhat. But really, your grades are good enough to get in.

Take a lot of SAT IIs over the summer and try to raise your SAT I to get a University Scholarship or other scholarship.

I'm not going to BU, but I had stats a little worse than yours and I made it in with 100% of my need met in Grants.

You'll get in. BU won't put you in CGS so you don't have to worry about that.

i don't see why not, looks good for bu

my high school was extremely diverse.. 50% black, 30% white, 10% hispanic, 6% indian/pakistani, 4% other asian. compared to my high school, BU has a small indian/paki population. to me, even if most races are represented at BU, BU is still mainly white. there's definitely an indian and paki scene on campus, but i wouldn't say a great deal.

as for how they look... that's too subjective, so you'll have to wait until u come to BU to see for yourself =P

It seems that at least 5% or so of the student body is Indian-Pakistani so although that may be small percentage wise that equates to a LOT of kids and there is defintely a presence. Check previous DESIs thread.

haha umm ya you'll definitely get in

Yeah BU is not as diverse which is true for most northeast schools. After "white" the most prominent group are East Asians followed by Asian-Americans.
