What are my chances?

Just wanted curious to see what my chances for some of the schools I am apply to are. Thinking about applying to: Boston College, Brown, Cornell, Georgetown, Emory, U - Mich, U - Virginia

For what it’s worth, I am an out of state student for both the state schools I am applying to and I’m applying to the two ivies more to see if I can get in more than anything else.

I am:
Hispanic (mom from Spain)/Male

Stats:
GPA: UW (3.77) W (4.117)
ACT: 34 E 28 M 33 R 28 S = Composite 31 + 11 on the writing
19/475
My High School was ranked top 400 by Newsweek
AP Gov (3) AP Lang (3) IB Psych SL (6)

Classes:
I am a full diploma candidate so all my classes are through that
HL: History, English, Spanish, Biology
SL: Math + Psychology
I am also taking Spanish at my local public university on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

EC:
President of Spanish Club
Varsity runner on the Track and Field team (3 years)
Varsity runner on the Cross Country team (4 years)
Studied abroad for an entire semester sophomore year
Volunteer tutor Spanish children at local literacy council
Volunteer at local food pantry
Interned over the summer in Europe for a film archive

Honors:
National Honor Society
High Honors all throughout high school

I had three letters of recommendation 2 from my teachers and 1 from my employer. They all should be pretty good.

Finally, I thought my essays were pretty well written but not stellar.

Thank you!

Hi there, you seem like a relatively competitive candidate. I would say you’re a good candidate for admission to Boston College, Emory, UMich, and UVA, while Brown, Cornell, Georgetown are reaches. What I find most interesting about your profile is how you have capitalized on your Hispanic heritage and shown involvement in your community through that. You are also very international, interning in Europe and studying abroad for a semester. Your 31 ACT is slightly low for some of these schools, but your ECs are very decent. Really put time and effort into your applications, and if your essays are not “stellar,” make them stellar! Good luck

Thank you very much!
