3.70 UW GPA, 4.52 WGPA, 4.03 UC Capped and weighted
New SAT: 1580(790 M/790 CRW, 23 Essay)
Old SAT: 2290, 750 M, 760 CR, 780 W
ACT: 35
Middle class white guy from Maryland
National AP Scholar, have taken every science AP and gotten a 5 on all but chemistry(4), 5 on BC calc, 5 on comp sci, 5’s on some other english and social studies ones
National Merit Semifinalist
Went to STEM Magnet programs for middle and high school, so course rigor is really good(Quantum Physics, Linear algebra, etc.), every STEM class I took is at or above AP level
ECs
School debate team captain
One of the top 200 PF debaters in the country, went to nationals and have gone far in a few other tournaments
Made it to the round of 16 at a big international debate tournament
Did an internship in a Neuroscience lab at UCLA over the summer, will have a strong recommendation from that lab’s PI
Math Team
Played on a high-level soccer team for my whole life, also played lower level baseball and basketball since 1st grade
3rd degree black belt in Tae Kwon do, have won some fighting tournaments
Rock climb and surf
I’ll have good essays, working with a college counselor and both my parents are writers and helping me edit
Is what I’m shooting for realistic? Should I aim higher/lower with the schools I’m applying to?
