What are my chances?

I just finished High School.

My freshman year of High School I was extremely depressed [due to being transgender and some circumstances regarding such] and missed tons of school, and REALLY got behind on my grades and got a 1.2 GPA my freshman year. But, after that year I got help and my depression eventually went away, and I started to try to catch up my grades the best I could, getting mostly straight A's for every other year in High School and started doing extracurricular activities.

I brought my GPA up as much as I could but due to the 1.2 GPA my freshman year, the most I could bring it up to was a 3.3. My final GPA after finishing High School is now a 3.3 GPA. Is there any way I have any chances at GOOD schools such as Ivy Leagues? My “ideal” college would be the University of Pennsylvania. Did this completely bomb my chances, or is there any chance left that I could still get in?

What is your cumulative GPA for sophomore through senior year? (I calculated that you got a 4.0, but I don’t know your school’s scale.) If this is the case, then you have an excellent shot at many great schools as your freshman year GPA is not all that important, but it does get looked at; however, I don’t think it will be too problematic since you have a legitimate reason for your poor GPA, and you showed incredible improvement. All of that said, you need to provide your test scores and extracurriculars for us to properly chance you.

Also, there are many GOOD schools outside of the Ivy League. I wouldn’t suggest considering UPenn to be your ideal college – this a reach school for nearly everyone, and I wouldn’t recommend getting set on it.
