What are my chances?

Hello
(this is my first thread ever, how exciting!!)
Guess I'll just put what I've done so far.

GPA 4.0 (unweighted)/ 4.5(weighted)
Also I am attending (partial enrollment) University of Oregon with 4.0 GPA because I've exhausted all available course in math and science at my high school. (all for free, yeah!!)

Doing research at the University of Oregon
AP scholar
(I am really good and in love with physics, but there isn't a single competition offered in Oregon in Physics)
minor school awards in math...

That's as far as I can think of right now...
I am thinking about applying to engineering schools in California and Massachusetts: UC Berkeley, Cal Tech, MIT and Stanford (I understand they are reach for me)

What does it look like compared to people living in big cities with at least one CompUSA? (Unfortunately my town has NONE)
Do I have a chance if I get super-ultra-mumbo-jumbo-convincing recommandations and essays?
If there is any engineering school I should apply as safety? (I have no clue about schools other than the 4 I've mentioned)

Finally thanks a LOT for reading this!!

Oregon kid:

UCB: Match (out of state, Engineering)

I have done summer schools(in district) and went to some music summer camps, does that help?
also I have few more SAT 2 subject tests to take

Strong stats but your schools are reaches and your Asian competition stiff. I would think you'll get into at least one reach, but have some matches you really love. Harvey Mudd would be a good addition as a CA match and maybe UCSD, Olin another MA reach and CMU would be worth a look.

"Strong stats but your schools are reaches and your Asian competition stiff."

you seem to think these schools are way more competitive then everyone else says they are. its not like hes applyin to harvard, which is a crapshoot for everyone. and race is probably the factor that colleges consider least

similar stats wtih me. except you took act and I took sat. and you have athletics and music.

pretty solid
write really good essays and you have a decent chance

u were a section leader in 9th grade? meaning u were running other seniors who werent section leaders in that same section? odd...

Strong chances at all of them. Probably slightly better odds at the private schools for out of state, although you're well aware that those are the most selective schools in the nation at any rate. Like has been mentioned above, this will come down to the quality of your essays.

Nash

Just to get it straight, I have been in band all years and did section leader in 11th and 12th grade, Oboesmrtguy40. Sorry about the confusion!

mudd, mit, caltech. pretty much anywhere you want to go with those sat II's, a 35 on the act, and those ec's.

this is going to sound odd (and possibly offensive) but the only contingent is: do you have a life? if you kept all those things going and lived life for the now, you'll be set.

Race is considered least???? How does each college keep getting the same percentage of each race ech year? Just an amazing coincidence? And yes, I do think getting into ivies is harder than most people here do. This year will be the hardest in history to get into one. Those that used to feel confident about HYPSM are casting wider nets and applying right on down to Cornell. Each ivy can fill itself several times with 4.0/1600s and the number of qualified Asians makes that pool by far the most competitive.

Is Oregon an underrepresented state?
