Extracurricular Activities
Quiz Bowl Team 7 Years
-President and Varsity Captain for 2 years, but was effectively in charge for 4
-Responsible for major improvements in the club, used to be only 3 members freshman year, now 3 full teams, and we won 2nd place at state championship with no seniors. We also placed 41st at nationals this year (large improvement from 170+ at our first nationals my freshman year.) I implemented running more practices (3 a week from 1), hosting our first tournament, running summer practices and daily practices over school breaks at my house, as well as preparatory camps for the incoming freshman. Winning nationals is almost in reach…
-Middle school assistant coach, in charge of study seminars, middle school placed top 30 past 3 years
-We compete in the college circuit as of this year too. (took 3rd this past weekend)
-I was a sub for the state NASAT Team (state all star team)

Junior Classical League 4 Years
-Webmaster
-School Certamen (Latin quiz bowl) Team Captain (we got 2nd at state last year)
-Played on state certamen team for National Championship (top 4 make the team in the state) (5th in novice division 9th grade, 1st place in the open division in 10th, 8th in advanced division 11th.)
-12 Top 10 finishes in academic tests at National Convention
-I have a workshop at state events where I teach new Certamen programs how to get involved and become better players
-I also got Greek to be more popular in our state somehow. I got 6 other high schools to try to take the National Greek Exam and we got together to study. Initially it was for the memes, but we actually did well and our state had the largest group recognized for NGE awards at national convention the next year. I also got a group of friends together to try to spread Agon (Greek quiz bowl) which is still small, but getting better. I also got Greek to be put into the Latin V curriculum at school. I convinced the president of my school chapter to try Greek out and he ended up as the only perfect score on the NGE at national convention lol.

Student Council 2 Years
-Class President
-Helped school get elected State President School

Beta Club 4 Years
-VP of Fundraising

Tennis 7 Years
-USTA matches, regional champion

Chemistry Olympiad 3 Years
-14th highest score in the state

Cello 7 Years
-local/county orchestras, nothing remarkable. I play because I like the cello.

My recommendations should be pretty good, they are from club sponsors and close teachers.
My biggest concerns is that none of my extracurricular are directly related to studying economics so they wont weight it that heavily, and that my standardized testing wasn’t as good as I expected.
