What are my chances

I am a freshman at a cc in Michigan I had a 3.4 gpa in high school (so low due to health issues junior year) and a 1100 sat which I only took once. I will be transferring as a sophomore into either Thornton or Marshall Im unsure yet. I currently have a college gpa of 4.0 and am a part of a national community college honors society but have no other community college ECs. Do I have a chance?

In terms of getting “Chanced” for USC, it is virtually impossible for others to predict what may or may not occur in your specific case. With an admit rate now of only 13%, and with 3K+ applicants with test scores in the 99th percentile among those not gaining admission, your success will instead likely depend on too many potential factors for anyone to correctly evaluate… making predicting admission nearly impossible.

I suggest reading an excellent thread on the topic from the beginning…

I also suggest reading through the following very helpful insider’s guide to USC admissions…

Good Luck…

@WWWard : Apparently, OP is not a high school applicant and is going to apply as a cc transfer. Though the concepts may be relevant, the above links are more focused on high school seniors applying to USC.

@arand17 : You should focus on fulfilling USC’s GE courses and strive for at least a 3.7+GPA, which is the average college GPA for USC transfers. The higher the GPA, the better. Also review the USC GE requirements and the transfer site which has articulation agreements with colleges. GPA is weighted much more than EC for transfers. Keep your GPA high.
