What are my chances?

Hi!! So this is my first post on CC, and I just wanted to see how you guys think my chances will be :slight_smile:
I’m planning on applying ED1
Here are my stats:
ACT: 34 composite
35 English
32 Math
34 Reading
34 Science

GPA: 3.85 (unweighted)/4.1 (weighted)
APs: English Lang - 5, Physics 1 - 3
This year’s classes: AP Lit, AP Bio, AP Psych, AP Calc AB, US history
ECs: Volunteer at a nursing home, active member of youth group (fundraisers, missions trip to Ecuador), county orchestra, high school chamber orchestra, vice president of Asian Society, Fencing team, Science Olympiad 10th and 11th grade (2nd in robotics and chem lab), volunteered to teach underprivileged students violin 9th and 10th grade,
Honors: National Merit Commended Scholar, National Honors Society

I’ve only done an info session and campus tour (I live in NY, so visiting’s been difficult), but Carleton is somewhere where I would really love to be. I fell in love with it online, but after visiting and talking with students, I know that I’m not in love with an idea, but a reality. :slight_smile:
I really love it when people are passionate about what they learn, and life in general. Reviews by Carls seemed to scream this, so that’s what caught my attention. Carleton just seems like a really great, accepting place, where I could really grow as a person. (Also haha, I wrote my common app essay on finding passion for learning, and really in general).

Oops I went on a bit of a tangent, but I would love to hear your feedback!!

Statswise, I’d say you’re in the running for ED. It also sounds like the academic vibe might be a good fit for you. Carls do seem to be very much into the life of the mind. Are you ok with the cold winters and small town setting? I’d recommend ED only if you’re sure that you’d rather be at Carleton than anywhere else, and if you are confident that you could accept an offer from Carleton without comparing financial aid offers. If all of that checks out, then go for ED. Carleton is a great school!
