What are my chances?

Can you give my chances?

I have a 3.5 UC GPA, 1210 sat. I have a GPA increase after Sophomore year (junior and senior year.) and I have taken a bunch of honors classes and including this year (Senior year) I have taken 7 APs (Human Geography, Environmental Science, English Language, Microeconomics, US Government, Statistics, and Psychology.) Low GPA due to family circumstances I mentioned in one of my essays. Rest of my essays I think are very strong and truly demonstrate my potential. Lots of extracurriculars- soccer for 4 years, president of a club, position in the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, 3 years of another club, 2 extracurriculars related to my major (environmental science/studies depending on the school,) 4 years of a leadership summer camp, and some smaller less-significant activities. I am also a low-income student if that makes any difference. I’m aware this thread is for UCR but could you give me my chances for UCSC and UCI as well? Thank you in advance!

Your UC GPA is below average for UCI/UCSC and UCR. Your SAT score is within range for UCR and just at the 25th percentile for UCSC and below the 25th percentile for UCI. An upward grade trend will help but Senior year grades are not used in the admission decisions.

UCR is a good target school.
UCSC will be a slight Reach and UCI will be a Reach just based on your academics.

UC’s tend to favor GPA over tests scores, but also consider HS course rigor and your personal insight essays are considered very important. EC’s are important but academics come first.

UCI: 11.1%

2018 UC capped weighted GPA averages:
UCSB: 4.13
UCI: 4.13
UCD: 4.11
UCSC: 3.96

UCM: 3.71

2018 Data:
25th - 75th percentiles for SAT:

UCSB: 1270-1500
UCD: 1220-1480
UCI: 1230-1490
UCSC: 1210-1450
UCR: 1130-1380
UCM: 1020-1280

Hopefully you applied widely and have a couple of safety schools on your list also.

Best of luck.

@Gumbymom Thank you for your help! I really appreciate it
