Currently a junior in my second semester. I’m an Asian American female living in Southern California. Not sure what my major will be, but maybe communicative disorders? Many suggestions for majors I can pursue? Considering mainly schools in California like UCSD, UCI, USD, UCD, SDSU, USF, CSUF, CSULB
GPA: 3.97W. I’m really trying to bring it up. Got a C in AP Chemistry last semester and C+ in Honors Pre-Calc. Got A’s in all other classes including AP Lang and APUSH. Got straight A’s freshman and sophomore year. Also, my school has a limit on the max number of APs that count for students so the max a junior can have is 4.25.
Class Rank: Our school doesn’t do it
APs I took: AP Lang, AP Chem (dropped this semester), APUSH, AP Euro (got a 4)
APs I’m planning to take: AP Lit, AP Gov, maybe AP Calc AB, AP Bio (maybe Anatomy instead?)
SAT: 1390, 760 Math, 630 English. Also took with essay, but scores haven’t been released. I’m trying to raise my score over the summer though.
Extracurriculars:
Varsity Cross Country and Track (since freshman year so 4 years by next year). Hoping to be captain
Yearbook
Key Club Secretary
Debate Club Treasurer
CSF/NHS Member
2nd Degree Black Belt in TKD
Vietnamese Girl Scouts
RYLA Camp attendee
went to an Olympic runner’s summer camp (had to apply and was 1/10 nationwide that went)
Note: My mom got diagnosed with cancer my sophomore year and has been in and out of the hospital so can I mention that in a college essay?
Thank you for your help! I go to a fairly competitive school and also went through the honors pathway to get to the AP classes, but my school doesn’t weight any of them.
