What are my chances?

Hello, I’m a high student who is rising senior. I was having a dream of attending a Pre-Med school here. However I found out that I can’t enter the Pre-Med track now. I have decided to apply for engineering here and Pre-Med in the UK. Here is my stats

  1. I’m Middle Eastern
  2. I came from middle class family
  3. My intended major is Biology, Biochemistry, Engineering
  4. GPA: 4.0 UW, 4.12 W
  5. EC’s, I have tutored people visually at science and math during my sophomore years I have attended the Math Team, Science Club and participated in the History Fair for Junior and planing to complete that track in my senior year. Also I’m planning to attend the key club for more volunteering opportunities.
  6. Why I want to attend the Pre-Med or the STEM field? I’m trying to attend that field because I’m excellent student in Science and math classes, and I have job shadowed for three days in the areas of Anesthesiology, SDS, and Orthopedics got 5/5 in the evaluations and 150/150 in the project. Honors/ Awards
  7. Academic Achievement of Excellence Certificate
  8. High Honor Rule for 4 years
  9. Congressional of Global Award of Excellence, I’m guessing because of my recommendations and Academic Excellence
  10. NHS Award is expected in my senior year.
  11. Courses I’m trying to take at least 1 Accelerated/Honors/Dual Credit every high school year.
  12. Freshman- Accelerated Algebra- Regular Biology
  13. Sophomore- Dual Credit- Beginning Drafting and Design (CAD system and Inventor) along with Geometry, Physical Earth Science.
  14. Junior year- Chemistry, Honors Microbiology, Dual Credit during the summer Biology 101 for Science majors and Psychology.
  15. Senior year- Regular Physics- Honors/AP Chemistry II, Dual Credit-English class , and Honors/AP Government along with Trigonometry- PreCalc ——————————————— They don’t weight dual Credit courses but if they weighted it I think my grade will be 4.2-4.3 weighted. This year’s school profile GPA’s for the class of 2020 is Valedictorian- 4.44 90%=4.05 75%= 3.51 50%=2.59 Also, the SAT never took it because of COVID-19

For the “Why medicine? Why STEM?” questions, don’t merely say that you want to because you’re good at math and science, and you shadowed for a few days. Talk about how medicine impacts you, why helping others is something you want to do with you life, what is it about math/science that draws you to it?

There are a lot of things that medicine impacted me in general. For example, I always wanted to know how the peptidoglycan cell walls targets the antibiotics. In my Honors Microbiology class , I always wanted to be the leader of the labs because I see that there is interesting things float around. For example, I like how the iodide and the violet color clumps together in forming the identity of the bacteria, such as gram- positive bacteria and gram-negative bacteria. I always wanted to attend the NYLF for Advanced Medicine and Health because I wanted to feel how the doctors feel when a patient thanks them for his help. I was invited to the NYLF but the cost was a barrier to me.

Also, I’m aiming for the Ivy’s should I apply now or wait until the first semester of the senior year.

That’s more of the kind of things that they want to see. Make sure to touch on the human aspect of medicine, not just the cut and dry science behind it.
If you’re a rising senior and want to begin college in the fall of 2021, the application doesn’t open until August 1. You should always get a head start on the essays in the summer, though.
