MY HS is one of the top 5 public schools in my state, New Jeresy

I think you've got a pretty good chance. Your ECs look good, grades are in an upward trend (what happened freshman year?), scores are alright. If your essays and recs are good, I'd say you've got a 75% chance. Good luck!

yay! i was originally going to apply to BC EA but then i heard it's more competitive...so...i like forgot about it...but now since i got a rejection letter from NYU, i am going to apply to it...and i am a Catholic so....yea.......... lololololol

I think you have a really good chance because not only are your scores iand GPA in range, but you have a lot of very unique extra curriculars. Sorry to hear about NYU. They su ck anyway. They think they're all high and mighty for only accepting 1500+ for early decision. They are terrible: they only care about their reputation and their money, and not at all about the enrolled students. You'll be much better off somewhere else anyway. Good luck!

i don't think i have a good shot though..my stats are bit low

I wouldn't worry....I really think you'll get in. You're above the middle 50% range for SATs

BC will like the upward trend in the grades. Is English your first language and what you speak at home? If not, that'll help you a lot, and I wouldn't worry about the scores...

haha yea, English isn't my first language...but it's sad that I got like above average verbal and writing scores :( what's up with this?

anyway, i will probably say that English AND Korean are my first languages...since I really don't know which one is more comfortable to speak...and my slightly above average scores on the verbal and writing sections might support that; and I hope being a bilingual helps...(?)
Although I do speak Korean at home, I really don't think that it is my definite first language.

Thank you, I didn't even apply to BC yet. I only handed in first part.

If I were you, I would put Korean as your first language/language spoken at home (unless it's truly not). Adcoms will be really impressed if you did that well on verbal and writing if your family primarily speaks Korean at home.

oh I see...damn I think I already handed in the first part..w/e i will go check. thanks a lot

does being Catholic actually factor into admission to a Catholic institution?? i didn't know that..
