colleges im looking at (in order)
1. University of Maryland (College Park) <- love the Terrapins
2. Johns Hopkins University
3. University of Maryland Baltimore County (UMBC)
4. Salisbury University (my "safe" college. i know i at least made it there)

Don't apply to Johns Hopkins, there is about 0 chance you will get in.

Your test scores are below the middle 50% for The University of Maryland(College Park). But since you live in Maryland you have a good shot.

For the other two schools you should get in.

thanks for the honest advice. ill definently not apply to Hopkins then, i knew my chances were slim there anyways T.T

im 99.9% sure that Salisbury University will accept me since i work there and i know someone who works there and looked at my records and said id get in no matter what.

im aiming for University of Maryland though, could anyone else give me their opinions?

any other opinions would be great.

Yes I think youll get into UM-baltimore county for sure. But UM-college park is a diffrent story. I think your ec's are good, your gpa is not that bad, but your test scores are somewhat below average. (dont worry I hate the SAT also :) ) But since your in-state I still would not be surprised if you got in.

(sorry for bumping an old thread, but..)
how much does in-state have a factor in getting accepted anyway? sorry, im extremely new to this and have no idea whatsoever of the factors that depend on how you get accepted.

i have a question though, do colleges in Maryland even look at the ACT? most of my friends in Maryland didnt know the ACT existed, however in Chicago, my friends said that ACT means more than the SAT.
