What are my chances?

Gender:Male
Ethnicity: White
GPA(approx): (W 3.3) (UW 3.0)
SAT: CR 670 M 600 W 630 (havent gotten my SAT II scores back yet, took them this month)
Type of HS: Public
Rank in HS: Top 30%
I have good E.C.s but I dont play sports.I I have taken Honors and AP classes (and I feel that I have shown "academic growth" )

Places I'm applying:
Boston U
Northeastern U
Trinity C (Connecticut)
Umass Amherst
Umass Dartmouth
Suffolk
Quinnipiac U
Clark U

bump bump

It's hard to tell on some of those schools. I'd say that Boston U is a good match school. As with UMass Amherst. Oh, I see people all the time typing "bump" or "bump bump" or "bump bump bump". What does this mean, lol.

"bump" is a message that just bumps your topic to the front page.

I guess I could add a little more onto my list:

I have held a 20 hour a week job for 2 years, have been a member of multiple community service organizations for all of HS, member of many school clubs (Students Against Destructive Decisions, Prom Committee, Art Club, National Honors Society, plus several others)

My school only offers 6 APs, I am taking 3 (Calc, English, and Psychology). I am a bit nervous about BU, Trinity, and Northeastern because my high schoold doesnt have the best rep. Writing is my strong suit, so I feel that my essay (as well as teacher recs.) will strengthen my chances. My GPA is low but I have always had a demanding course load and my GPA has strengthened each year. BU and Northeastern are the two schools I really want to go to (BU mostly).

You have a good shot at BU. Are you a senior or junior now?

i am a senior

Well did you apply? RD?

i disagree with above posts
i dont think u have a good chance at bu
ur gpa is quite a bit lower than their average
and ur sats are about average

I havent applied yet. I am still polishing my essay (and waiting for one of my recs to retype a letter on proper school letterhead) however I will be applying ED II. I agree bigtwix, I dont think I have the best chances but I am remaining optimistic.

Does this sound about right?

Boston U Reach (EDII)
Northeastern Reach
Trinity Reach
Clark Match/Reach
Quinnipiac Match
Suffolk Match/Safety
Umass Amherst Match/Safety
Umass Darthmouth Safety

bump, any other opinions (and yes, i spelled "dartmouth" wrong in my last post)?

In my humble opinion:

Boston U - ACCEPT (no money, believe me, no money)
Northeastern U -ACCEPT
Trinity C (Connecticut) - WAITLIST
Umass Amherst - ACCEPT (honors college even)
Umass Darthmouth - ACCEPT (honors)
Suffolk -ACCEPT (with money)
Quinnipiac U - ACCEPT
Clark U - ACCEPT (with money)

I finally finished my essay 100%. Sending in my app to BU tomorrow...

boston u is pretty bad with financial aid, but my friend got in with a full scholarship and around stats, write your essays well and you have a good shot!

doctorsboy- ur friend received a full scholarship? what were his stats?

i would also like to know these stats, if you know them

Don't get your hope up. BU provides full scholarship for student of certain Boston high school. However, those students' state are mediocre. One of my close friend got the scholarship and her SAT and GPA were lower than mine, however, she attended the right high school in Boston. Unless you're living in Boston, no hope man.

Boston High School Scholarship

* Recipients' average high school GPA: 3.55
* Average rank in class: top 7 percent
* Average SAT I score: 1220 (ACT: 26)

(Didn't I tell you their stats are mediocre)

bummmppppp

bump .

My take :-):

Boston U: Slight Reach/Match (more match with ED II)
Northeastern U: Slight Reach/Match
Trinity C: Big Reach
Umass Amherst: Match
Umass Dartmouth: Safety
Suffolk: Safety
Quinnipiac: Match
Clark U: Low Match
