what are my chances?

can someone tell me what my chances are at the following schools. I will be a junior transfer with an associates degree and i will have a GPA of 3.4 but at time of application i have a 3.3. I am a virginia resident.

UVa
Virginia Tech
ODU
NC State (out of state w/alumni)

please offer in or out status.

i am trying to get into an enviromental science program

UVA:Reach
NC State:Match
Virginia Tech:Match
ODU:In

What about JMU, George Mason and Mary Washington? You would stand a good chance at getting in at those 3 also.

i have not considered george mason, but i did consider JMU but they do not have an enviromental science program. Mary Washington was a match i thought but i applied to ODU because i had to pick a school that i was guaranteed to get into but i also applied for enviromental engineering there. I really would like to go to UVA because it is an hour away from home but i will probably go to NC State if i do not get in at UVA. I am a lifetime State fan so that would be awesome go to school there.

Given that you are a Virginia applicant, I would say that you have a chance at UVA. However, I know someone who is a virginia applicant and was rejected with a 3.8 GPA.

Recently (November?), several 4-year colleges in VA signed an agreement to honor VA community college credits. If my recollection is correct, UVa did not sign the agreement. You may want to check with UVa to be sure they will accept your credits.

i think you are right because my guidence counselor told me that they had an agreement with every school except UVa. If i only got sophomore status at UVa i would not be upset about it. i made sure that i took classes that they wanted to see on the application. i know they will take all major English, Science , and calculus classes.
