<p>So, what are my chances?</p>

<p>Rating scale: unlikely reach, reach, semi-reach, good fit, likely, safety. For the tech schools I'd say you've got a good chance thanks to your already extensive involvement with computers. This could potentially give you an edge at the schools I listed as "reaches."</p>

<p>Carnegie Mellon University... GOOD FIT.
University of Maryland... SAFETY.
George Washington University... SAFETY.
Rochester Institute of Technology... SAFETY.
Franklin W. Olin College of Engineering... REACH.
Massachusetts Institute of Technology... REACH.
University of Southern California... LIKELY.
University of California-Los Angeles... LIKELY.
University of California-San Diego... SAFETY.
Stanford University... REACH.
California Institute of Technology... REACH.
Cornell University... SEMI-REACH.</p>
