<p>I have a 3.8 unweigted GPA and a 4.45 weighted. My school is extremely competitive and this is a good GPA.</p>
<p>I've been in several Honor societies, good leadership roles, community services (350+ hours), etc...</p>
<p>I've done 2 summers of biomedical enginnering research in which 1 year my name was aknowledged in the "aknowledged" section for my testing and stuff in a published scientific paper. </p>
<p>I'm taking 5 AP classes this year and have been doing really well on them</p>
<p>I'm applying for Biology as a RD applicant for WashU, Columbia, Cornell, UPenn, Rice, EMory, Vanderbilt</p>

<p>You're a solid candidate at all. Do retake SATII writing if you think you can do better. It's important at the ivys.</p>
<p>Hey blue daisy thanks first off for your response. I think first off that ur ap scores are very solid and unless u can make substantial improvement in the sat which is very solid, you are better off just improivng the writing score like lisa said. Concentrate on that and then just worry bout sending in a solid essay and acquiring strong recs. Ur gpa is very strong (is it top 10%) Also i think the biomedical engineering stands out the most. Lastly are u applying ED anywhere cuz if u have a clear cut fav. that can boost u in. Good luck, keep up the good work, looks like we'll be competing at Washu Cornell, Vanderbilt, and Emory haha. <p>You might want to take the ACT also. Many of my friends did better on it, than the SATs. I always thought the SATs were easier, but since the ACT better tests what we've learned in high school, it might in fact be easier to take.</p>

<p>my friends told me the same thing. I, as well, thought the SAT was easier...mostly because less sections and more time on sech section. I've been struggling with the whole "take ACT" or "not take it" for a long time now. thx for the advice</p>
