I'm a Senior from Woodstock, GA. White male.

GPA: 3.6 (rounded down from a 3.64)
AP: 3 (2 English courses Freshmen and Sophomore year, 1 History course Junior year)
ACT Score: 29
ECs: Soccer (Sophomore and Junior year), Beta Club

Applying to:
UGA (first choice, applying ED)
Clemson
Emory
Virginia Tech
Georgia Southern (safety)
Georgia State (safety)

you're in at all of your schools dude. i'd suggest that you shoot a little higher. actually depends on ur gpa. is the 3.6 weighted or unweighted?

That's my unweighted GPA, I believe. I don't know what it would be on the weighted scale. But you guys really think I'm a match for all my applications? I thought Clemson and Emory were reaches. But I'm applying ED to all of them.

UGA ED is non-binding... You will likely be accepted there and I think it is a fine school. I have applied there as well, though it is not my first choice. This whole aim high stuff is garbage, you don't want to go to a school and be miserable because it is considered better on paper.

Emory is probably a reject, but I would probably recommend UGA over it anyway for you. It's a very affordable school, especially in-state. Plus it has a very nice female-male ratio...

UGA probably in.. however it was a rule of thumb at my school that to consider it a sure shot, you had to have a 3.75. I had friends who got deferred ED and then rejected regular with similar stats to you, except lower test scores, better ECs, and more APs. So don't think it's a sure shot- especially with the Hope, it's getting harder and harder to get into. I know plenty of people who were rejected from UGA but got into Auburn and Clemson. My school was also the biggest feeder school into UGA so that might make things a bit weird.

I would consider Emory and Virginia Tech both reaches.

Yeah, I'm hoping I get in since I've applied EA. I was worried that my GPA is too low, but then I looked at the stats for last year's incoming class, and I found out my GPA was actually on the lower side of the middle 50% of students they accepted and my ACT score meets the median average. I checked it out on Princeton Review and they said UGA for me is a safety. I don't know, though.

You're probably in everywhere, maybe with the exception of Clemson and Emory. If by some chance you don't get in to any of your schools and you have to rely on one of your safety schools, don't come to GSU. You'll hate it here.

LOL, that's what one of my friends said. Hopefully I get into one of my top picks. Really, I'd like to go to either UGA or VTech. Clemson and Emory don't seem as fun, but they're good, nationally-recognized schools.
