What are my chances?

First off, let me say that I know my chances are very weak I just wanted to know if Dartmouth was a lost dream for me or maybe a possibility.

My SAT Scores:
Math: 780
CR: 600
Writing:680

SAT II Scores:
Math II: 730
Chemistry: 710
Literature: 730

GPA: 3.9

Extracurriculars: Debate team captain, Darfur Action founder/president, International Club President, Editor-in-Chief of the School paper, Fencing captain, Amnesty International activist, NHS, SNHS, Tutor, SAT Prep teacher

Over the summers:
Havard Summer College, UPenn Summer College
I have an award winning essay and great teacher recs.

And I’ve taken 8 APs
AP US History, AP Government, AP Comparitive Governemnt, AP Literautre, AP English Language, AP Chemistry, AP Biology, and AP Calculus

Sorry, and I applied ED

frankly, i think its kind of pathetic that you went to two different summer schools at harvard and upenn. Admissions officers arent impressed by people who shell out ten grand to try to buffer their academic resumes.

and also, why are you teaching SAT prep if you got a 2060?

finally, i think you have a chance at admission but your gpa doesnt mean much unless you tell us your rank/percentile and your sat scores might be too low

first of all shackleton i didn’t “shell 10 grand” they were programs for minority students that were FREE so don’t be so quick to judge and call them “buffers”

And I teach SAT MATH because I got a 780, which makes sense.

And I’m in the top 10% at my private school

ok well you said SAT PREP TEACHER which implies the entire SAT reasoning test.

Holy crap, there’s an edit button for a reason, why do you guys have to be so obnoxious with the triple posting?

Shackleton basically covered all the bases. SAT’s are weak in general. CR is well below the 25th percentile of last years enrolled students. Math is at the 75th percentile, and Writing is just below the 25th percentile.

The SAT II scores are lukewarm also; you could have done better.

GPA is meaningless… I’m guessing unweighted though? What’s your rank, and how many people in your school? Do you live in Alaska or South Cali/NJ? All these factors are huge in representing what your GPA means.

Your extracurriculars seem average to above-average.

The summer programs, instead of showing initiative to experience college life, might show an inability to commit, though I’m sure it’s not that big of a deal.

Your courseload seems tough; did you take the highest classes your school offered?

Considering Dmouth appears to put a high value on standardizes scores as opposed to ec’s (correct me if I’m mistaken), I think it may be a bit of a reach. But you have a shot, no doubt.
