I'm a HS junior from Fairfax County, VA, and I'm really interested in Ohio U. What would you say my chances are with these stats? I've got a GPA of about 3.3, including six to seven IB classes in four years plus one Honors biology. SATs of about 1050. I'm currently President of the Jewish Culture Club (was Vice President as a sophomore). I'm a section leader in band (and will be for two years), All-District Band member (expected for four years), marching band and jazz band member. I played in a jazz band that toured in Eurpope and the Bahamas. I've also worked with kids at a summer day camp. Thinking about studying music business/production.

I don't go to Ohio University, so I am not sure how much my opinion carries. But, anyway, I think that you have a good chance of getting in. Your SAT scores are between the range given. I am not familair with IB. But, I believe that your GPA and course load is strong enough to make it in. Your GPA will not place you in the top half of students but, you should be okay for admissions. Your community service is also strong when appying to OU. If you show your passion for your field, you should be fine. Good luck.

By the way, I know several people that have gone to OU. They both loved the school and now work around it.

I think you have a pretty good chance. Maybe want to take the SAT again to see if you can raise your scores a little?

I'm a freshman at Ohio University and I have absolutely no doubt that you'll get in. Your extracurriculars seem pretty solid and your grades are fine.

A friend of mine got in with a 21 ACT and a GPA under 3.
